Well, good lord, two direct hits from major hurricanes later I'm finally back in New Orleans. I'm staying with friends for now, since my apartment was trashed along with 93% of my belongings. I've been back here for two weeks now, and I finally found someone with an internet connection. It's really spooky here in the city...National Guard troops everywhere, curfew, and so many empty houses and shops. Everyday,though, more restaurants and bars open, more people come home.
I'm trying to get my life back together now and working with the Red Cross. Maybe next week I'll have the energy to start posting my adventures, but for now this will have to do.
Thanks to all of you who have called and sent emails...It's good to know who my real friends are and who will end up first against the wall when the revolution comes.
