Well...we had dinner at Louisiana Pizza Kitchen...fantastic as always. Then we headed off to the party. I met a few lovely people who I hope to get to know better in a less pretentious setting. Many snide women, many conversations about babies (yawn), and how many different ways of talking about the weather are there? Plenty, apparently. Thomas, of course, was his usual witty, charming self. He makes everything a delight, though I had been hoping to leave earlier to be alone with him. It's pleasing to see how highly he is esteemed by his colleagues...I am prepared to give them all a lot of leeway on that basis.
I got to drive us home in Thomas's lovely vehicle Hercules. It was a pleasure to be behind the wheel again after so many years, especially of a car as delightful as Hercules is.
I'm hoping that Thomas's hiccups wear off soon, as it is impossible to take him seriously and keep a straight face when I hear "I *hiccup* love you."It makes me giggle.
Tomorrow afternoon we're going flying, which I am looking forward to immensely. Thomas goes offshore again on Monday and won't be back til Thursday or Friday, so we're spending as much time together as possible in the meantime.
And on Tuesday we find out where Thomas's new posting will be...Houston, or here, or..? I don't know whether to look forward to it or to dread it. I'll keep y'all posted.
